I received a copy of this book as a first reads giveaway I could not wait to read this book and was so excited to get it yesterday The writing is very powerful and draws you in from the beginning I immediately fell in love with Scott I lost my mom unexpectedly about a year ago and could relate all to well to what Scott was going through All those feelings of loss and regret over what you should've said or would've done differently if you had just known that was the last time you would ever see your mom really hit home for me and this book really touched my heart Scott's journey into finding who he was and learning to forgive was really remarkable I really enjoyed the romance between him and Kathryn as well I really loved this book and I think it will stay with me for some time Highly recommend

I would like to share a review my dear friend Lynda DeCicco just sent me through the mail about my novel That Ever Died So Young She WroteHi Judy Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed reading your new book You really brought the characters to life as well as the landscape The starkness and cold of winter were a great contrast to the vibrant personalities of the characters I think my favorite characters were Cameron and Frankie because of their warmth and big hearts If only the world were full of people like them we wouldn't have nearly as many problems as we doI also enjoyed the descriptions of the running It reminded me of when I used to jog between four and five miles every other day The experiences made everything else better because the static energy had been removed from my body and I felt in tune with the world The running and the effort reuired reflected the characters' struggles which the reader could easily relate to the struggle to rise above human frailty to achieve a dreamThe repair of disenchanted youth reverberates throughout the book Scott's own self disenchantment reflects the disillusionment of the homeless teens a problem which you and I are intimately familiar withThe end of Scott's dilemma leaves the reader at the beginning of a challenge to help do something towards alleviating the suffering of young people in our society a tough challenge Anyway thanks for making the time effort and self investment to write the book I hope it chatches on in a big way LyndaI have received via email and face to face comments from many people about the things they really enjoyed in the novel It warms my heart to know that people have enjoyed something that I've written Sending me a handwritten note is something very special to me
